The Reay Creek development is a residential neighbourhood that focuses on family-oriented housing in North Saanich. The comprehensive site includes park space, a trails network, community garden, greenway corridors, and stormwater management features.

 

The project created a thriving neighbourhood that improved site conditions, embraced and restored environmental values, and added to the vibrancy of the local community. The stormwater management plan for the Reay Creek Meadows development project centered on the use of rain gardens to infiltrate water through soil, both cleaning runoff water and slowing runoff delivery to Reay Creek.

The existing meadow area of Reay Creek Park was enhanced with public amenities including benches, community garden plots, trails, a large rain garden complex, and planted buffer zones adjacent to the proposed and existing residential area. A shed and shade structure was constructed within the community garden area.
